Apple TV 4K 2026 Price, Release Date and Siri AI Features

Apple’s fourth-generation Apple TV 4K adds Siri AI, faster hardware, AV1 decoding and new surround-sound options. Here are the price and release details.

Apple TV 4K 2026 price, release date and Siri AI features are now official. Apple announced its fourth-generation streaming box on October 13, positioning conversational search, faster video processing and expanded home-theater audio as the headline upgrades. Preorders opened immediately, with retail availability scheduled for Friday, November 13.

The Apple Newsroom announcement lists the U.S. price at $299, or $49.83 per month for six months. That price makes the feature comparison especially important for viewers who already own an Apple TV, use another streaming platform, or are considering a multi-speaker setup.

Apple TV 4K 2026 price, release date and Siri AI details

The new Apple TV 4K introduces a full-screen Siri AI experience designed to answer natural-language entertainment questions. Apple says viewers can request award-winning shows, ask follow-up questions about a program while watching, or use personal context from a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone for requests such as playing a recommendation received from a contact.

Three far-field microphones are built into the device, allowing hands-free voice commands without reaching for the remote. Apple says echo cancellation helps isolate speech while sound is playing. Siri AI will launch as a beta in English in the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

There is an important detail for existing owners: Apple says the Siri AI beta will also be available on Apple TV 4K models from the second generation onward. Buyers should therefore separate software availability from hardware-exclusive improvements before deciding whether to upgrade.

A19 performance and AV1 streaming

The fourth-generation model uses Apple’s A19 chip. According to the company, it delivers up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance of the preceding generation. Apple also added a dedicated AV1 decoder, which it says can deliver efficient, high-quality streaming while using less bandwidth.

Those specifications may matter most to people who move quickly among apps, play Apple Arcade titles or watch services that use AV1. Actual picture quality and data use will still depend on the streaming service, available format, television, network connection and title being viewed.

The updated Siri Remote retains its familiar layout but adds Find My support. Precision Finding and an audible alert are intended to make the remote easier to locate. Apple says the new remote works with Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K, while Find My is supported on the second-generation Siri Remote and later.

Four-speaker HomePod surround sound

Apple is also expanding its home-theater configuration. The new Apple TV 4K can work with four HomePod mini 2 speakers, which automatically recognize their positions and calibrate audio timing and levels to the room. Four second-generation HomePod speakers can also be used, provided the front pair matches and the rear pair matches.

The separately announced HomePod mini 2 can be preordered now and arrives October 30. That timetable allows the speakers to reach customers before the streaming box, but building the full four-speaker configuration requires additional purchases.

What viewers should compare before ordering

Prospective buyers should weigh the $299 hardware price against the features their existing television and streaming device already provide. Confirm display compatibility, preferred apps, audio equipment and whether hands-free Siri or AV1 decoding solves a current need. Existing second- or third-generation Apple TV 4K users may want to test the Siri AI beta before paying for the new hardware.

The device can access Apple Originals and live sports through the Apple TV app, alongside third-party streaming apps. For programming ideas rather than equipment, Hollywood Weekly’s Netflix in October 2026 watchlist offers a separate guide to story-focused viewing.
