Hollywood Weekly Magazine has recently discovered that an important part of its publishing history has been preserved in MovieMags.com, a global online archive devoted to film, television, celebrity and entertainment magazines.

The MovieMags Hollywood Weekly collection currently documents 39 editions of the magazine, presenting their covers as part of a much larger historical record of entertainment publishing from around the world.

For Hollywood Weekly, the discovery represents more than the appearance of familiar covers on another website. It provides an opportunity to look back at the personalities, films, musicians, cultural movements and independent creators who have appeared in the magazine over the years.

Established in 2001, Hollywood Weekly was created to provide a distinctive platform for entertainment coverage without relying upon celebrity gossip. Its longstanding editorial philosophy—“No Gossip, Strictly Entertainment”—has allowed the publication to focus on creative achievement, cultural discovery and the people working to build lasting careers.

Over the years, Hollywood Weekly has featured internationally recognized entertainers alongside independent filmmakers, musicians, actors, screenwriters, entrepreneurs and emerging artists. Each cover has served as a visual record of a particular moment in entertainment history.

Together, those covers tell a larger story.

They show how Hollywood has changed, how independent voices have gained new opportunities and how entertainment has expanded beyond traditional studio boundaries. They also document Hollywood Weekly’s continuing commitment to introducing its readers to creative people whose work deserves attention.

MovieMags.com describes itself as a worldwide guide and archive dedicated to movie-related publications. Its database includes professional magazines, fan publications and entertainment titles from numerous countries and periods of publishing history. The archive allows visitors to explore magazine covers, identify featured personalities and examine how cinema and celebrity culture have been presented across generations.

The inclusion of Hollywood Weekly places the magazine within that broader history of entertainment journalism.

It also illustrates why physical and digital magazines remain important. Individual stories may disappear from daily news cycles, social-media feeds and search results, but a magazine cover preserves a moment. It records who was being celebrated, what audiences were watching and which creative movements were beginning to emerge.

The discovery comes as Hollywood Weekly continues expanding its print, digital and hotel distribution throughout Los Angeles. Upcoming editions will continue covering major motion pictures, live music, theatre, international cinema, classic screen legends and the independent artists shaping entertainment’s next chapter.

Hollywood Weekly also plans to develop additional ways for readers and collectors to explore its publishing history. These may include collectible back issues, themed cover collections, digital archive access and special editions celebrating memorable personalities and cultural milestones.

For Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Prather Jackson, the MovieMags listing is a reminder that independent publishing creates a legacy one edition at a time.

“Every Hollywood Weekly cover represents a person, a creative journey and a moment worth remembering,” Jackson said. “Seeing these editions preserved together reminds us how much history the magazine has documented—and how many important stories are still waiting to be told.”
