Les Benjamins From Earth to Sky Collection: Fashion Meets Film

Bünyamin Aydın’s anniversary project connects Cappadocia-inspired design with a filmed runway presentation. Explore the documented process and creative-team takeaways.

The Les Benjamins From Earth to Sky collection turns a fashion anniversary into a study of place, design and moving images. Created by founder Bünyamin Aydın, the project celebrates 15 years of the Istanbul-based label through a presentation in Cappadocia, Türkiye, developed in collaboration with Apple.

For entertainment audiences, the interest extends beyond the clothes: the project connects research, visual development, runway staging and filmmaking. Official accounts from the brand and Apple provide a useful way to trace that process without mistaking promotional material for an independent review.

Les Benjamins From Earth to Sky collection: the starting point

The brand’s collection account locates the inspiration in an early-2026 research trip to Güllüdere Valley. Three local plants informed the project’s palette, including green thistle, pink flowers and yellow tulips. Three custom hot-air balloons carried those bright colors above the presentation.

Aydın brought together Turkish fabrics, Silk Road influences, contemporary silhouettes and references to 1970s rock. The opening look paired a Turkish kaftan with a tree branch representing Anatolia, paying tribute to musician Barış Manço. These references make the setting part of the collection’s cultural argument, rather than simply a scenic backdrop.

From research images to a shared design process

According to the brand, Aydın used Freeform to organize field photographs, fabric references and initial sketches into mood boards on iPad Pro. Balloon forms were developed in Procreate, with Pasha Balloons providing engineering support to turn drawings into structures that could fly.

For readers unfamiliar with the software, Apple’s Freeform guide describes boards that combine photographs, shapes, sticky notes and other material. It also documents real-time collaboration and boards kept current across Apple devices through iCloud.

The transferable idea is not that one device guarantees a successful show. It is that collaborators can work from a visible, evolving reference rather than reconstructing a concept from separate conversations. For a small creative team, a useful board could label the source of each reference, identify the decision it informs and distinguish an approved choice from an experiment.

How Neels Castillon approached the fashion film

In its October 14 production feature, Apple identifies French filmmaker Neels Castillon as the director capturing the presentation on iPhone 18 Pro Max. Three runways, balloons and changing sunrise conditions shaped the production challenge.

Apple describes camera operators monitoring white balance and histograms to maintain consistency as the light changed. Custom drones carried paired phones, while high-frame-rate footage supplied slow-motion material. Castillon used ProRes RAW for flexibility in later color grading, and reviewed selections on a MacBook Pro on location.

Those details are production claims from a participating company, not results of Hollywood Weekly equipment testing. Apple directs viewers to its Instagram account for the project film, available beginning October 14. The linked feature also includes production imagery and background.

What creative teams can take from it

The practical lesson is to separate three questions before a shoot: what the garments communicate, what the location contributes, and what the camera must reveal. A wide image may establish scale; a closer shot may explain fabric or construction. Choosing between them should follow the story rather than the novelty of the equipment. Keep that plan concise enough to use while on location.

Teams planning their own fashion film can turn those questions into a short shot list and assign responsibility for each setup. They should also decide what can be captured in available light and what needs a contingency. These are editorial planning suggestions, not a claim that the same production approach fits every budget.
